A section presenting various perspectives of sexual minorities in different countries.

The films carefully selected for SIPFF’S World PRIDE Section have won awards from major international film festivals or have both cinematic values and popularities, and hence, are expected to get a lot of attention from our audiences, and to help them second-handedly experience the lives of queers in various sociocultural classes. 

Among these films, SIPFF recommends the following films as worth watching films: “Happy Ending: 70+ med sex (directed by Hella Joof) depicts the fresh throbbing feelings an old lady experience; “End of the Century (directed by Lucio Castro) shows the story of two men who came across with and fall for each other; a very cheerful comedy “The Shiny Shrimps (directed by Cédric Le Gallo, Maxime Govare)” which reminds of “The Adventure of Priscilla, Queen of The Desert” unfolds the story of gay amateur water polo players; “José (directed by Li Cheng),” the winner of Queer Lion Award from Venice International Film Festival, illustrates how one man’s repetitive life changes as time passes by; “Adam (directed by Rhys Ernst),” a popular film from this year’s Sundance Film Festival, shows the process how a boy grows up by falling in love with a lesbian girl. 

Besides these films, diverse short films including “Broken (directed by Steve Cruz-Martin)” and “Thomas Banks Quest For Love (directed by Pip Kelly)” that show the stories of a disabled sexual minorities, and “Ladies Lounge (directed by Monique Bettello)” which depicts the story of two women who are willing to lead independent lives in the age of extreme female discrimination.
