Since 2019, HIQFW has presented The Queer New Wave Award, the festival’s official prize recognizing outstanding achievements in queer cinema. Working primarily with filmmakers on their first and second features, his filmography includes Renoir(2025, Cannes Film Festival, Main Competition) by Chie Hayakawa, 10s Across the Borders(2025, Busan International Film Festival, Wide Angle Documentary Competition) by Sze-Wei Chan, and Honey, My Love, So Sweet(2025, Locarno Film Festival, Short Film Competition) by JT Trinidad. Ang has participated in numerous international professional programs, including the Rotterdam Lab(2012), Berlinale Talents(2013, 2021), Tribeca Film Institute Network(2019), Locarno Open Doors(2019), La Fabrique Cinéma du Monde(2021), IDFA Producers Connection(2021), and EAVE Producers Workshop(2022). |
