Marriage, Family, and Being Queer in South Korea

The protagonist of the documentary, Minki, has entered the age where his peers are getting married. Despite having many thoughts about marriage and having a long-term partner, he is perturbed by the inability for gay couples to get married. Also, he worries that his identity as a gay person will cause problems for his older brother’s marriage, prompting him to ask his family members how they feel about him being gay. When he asks his partner, “Do you want to marry me?” he hears a very honest yet realistic answer.
